The Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Center-invest bank, professor, Doctor of economic sciences Vasiliy Vysokov took part in the annual European Banking Congress which was held on November 19 in Frankfurt-on-Main. Participants of the congress are the leaders of the leading European banks.This year the basic issues of the congress became prospects of European develop-ment after acceptation of new members, harmonization of regulation and supervision on financial markets, prospects euro as international currency unit.

The Chairman of the Board of the Federal Reserve System – A. Greenspan, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Japan – K. Iwata, President of the European Central Bank – J.-C. Trichet became the participants of the discussion on the last issue.

The specialists provide forecasts that ratio of the leading world currency rates will be determined by activity of transfer of savings into investment, including emerging markets. In his speech President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development J. Le-mier accentuated special role of Russian banks with EBRD's investments in that process. We would like to remind that in 2004 the EBRD became one of shareholders of JSC Cen-ter-invest bank.
