On 9-10 June, assisted by the Royal Consulate General of Denmark, Center-Invest Bank held Danish-Russian Energy Efficiency Technology Days in Rostov-on-Don.

Representatives of eight leading Danish manufacturers and engineering companies working with the utilities sector held talks with Center-Invest customers and the heads of Rostov region's water and wastewater service providers.

The aim of the meetings was to make Rostov region businessmen and utility providers aware of the opportunities to use modern energy efficiency equipment produced in Denmark. The following companies presented their product ranges and services: Grundfos, Aarsleff, Hvidtved Larsen, Aalborg Engineering, Danfoss, Logstor, Carl Bro, and Arup.

Center-Invest Bank is willing to finance the modernisation of water and energy supply systems in the Rostov region and the rest of southern Russia. We already have experience of investing in energy efficiency projects, enabling our customers to not only cut their electric power consumption by 30-50%, but also to reduce harmful emissions.

“The time for your company to introduce energy efficiency technologies is right now, because it will mean that tomorrow, in the post-crisis economy, when tariffs go up, it will be much easier for you to be competitive,” says Chairman of the Board of Directors of Center-Invest Bank, Dr. Vasily Vysokov. “Bank finance, international financial institutions, and leading export agencies are helping Center-Invest's customers obtain energy efficiency equipment on advantageous terms. Our customers' experience shows that energy costs can be cut by as much as 80%.”

The Danish representatives were shown projects to construct modern waste incinerators in the city of Taganrog, as well as successful energy efficiency projects carried out by Center-Invest customers: the boiler house modernisation project at the district heating company Teploenergo and the installation of new equipment at the Lemaks factory.

At a meeting with business representatives, Danish Consul General Claus Serensen said, “Energy efficiency technologies and sustainable development principles help businesses to be competitive, reduce their costs, and become environmentally friendly. We have done a lot of work with the International Finance Corporation (IFC); at the beginning of this year we held an eco-tour in Denmark for Center-Invest staff and customers. Center-Invest invited us to visit southern Russia: it is an innovative and professional bank, and Danish companies greatly appreciate this support in the region.”
