At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia noted the achievements and special role of Center-invest Bank in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the promotion of ESG principles in the banking community and the formation of the green investment market in Russia.
Speaking at the panel discussion “Green Agenda: Development Vectors and Sources of Funding”, the Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Ilya Torosov noted that the interest of Russian investors in responsible financing was growing: “In addition to large financial ecosystems, niche players are also appearing on the market. For example, Center-invest Bank, which has already allocated about RUB150bn of loans for the Sustainable Development Goals. The department expects that the share of green finance in Russia by 2030 will amount to at least 1% of GDP."
Center-invest Bank remains a pioneer of green finance in Russia, the only bank that has already placed two issues of green bonds worth RUB 550 million in the Sustainable Development Sector of the Moscow Exchange. Also, the Bank has a "Green" deposit, which allows customers to meet the global Sustainable Development Goals. 2606 residents of the Southern Russia have issued an eco-deposit in the Bank for a total of RUB1.3 bn.
