Center-invest Bank took part in the «Ecology» International Forum organised by the Ecology Center for Support of Environment Protection Initiatives Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation. The event took place on 5–6 June 2023 in Moscow at the International Trade Center.

Within the framework of the «Investments in the Future: Development of Green Financing» session, Alexander Dolganov, Doctor of Economics, Member of the RF Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council for Financial, Industrial and Investment Policy, Deputy Chairman of Center-invest Bank’s Management Board, told about the bank’s experience in the area of environmental responsibility.

Since 2005, Center-invest Bank has been supporting the companies in Southern Russia to implement advanced energy efficient technologies, which has already helped to reduce CO2 emissions by 260,000 tons. In 2023 the bank introduced a methodology to estimate the carbon footprint of home loans. The analysis of data based on this methodology made it possible to register emissions attributable to 742 loans for the amount of 2.4 billion rubles.

The Bank’s Green Home Loan product gives the clients of Center-invest Bank an opportunity to purchase energy-efficient homes and offices at a lower interest rate.  The Bank has introduced an ESG rating system to assess the non-financial risks of corporate clients, including their engagement in protection of the environment.

More than 40% of the Bank’s own energy consumption comes from solar energy, through the purchase of green certificates and installation of solar panels.

In 2022 the bank launched Russia’s first digital bank ESG magazine, The Green Vector, devoted to environmentally friendly and conscious lifestyle. Center-invest Bank makes a great effort in achievement of carbon neutrality and building of green economy. It also implements the principles of responsible investment and encourages SME to apply the sustainable development practices.
