Center-invest Bank signed a digital rouble account agreement with the platform operator, the Bank of Russia, and joined the second group of banks to begin preparing their systems and processes for testing digital rouble transactions.
Digital rouble is a new form of national currency that will be issued in addition to the existing cash and non-cash means of payment. The objective of the current stage of the pilot project is to make the necessary preparations for the bank’s information systems, practice all the processes related to the new type of national currency, including opening an account, its replenishment, payment for goods in digital roubles and transfers between individuals on real users.
«The introduction of digital currency is a qualitative shift in global payments. Participating in the digital rouble pilot project, we have an opportunity to be the first to see all the benefits of using digital currencies, to influence the future payment infrastructure and to offer our customers new products and services,» said Yuri Bogdanov, Deputy Chairman of Center-invest Bank’s Board of Directors and Chief Innovation Officer.
For many years, Center-invest Bank has enjoyed fruitful cooperation with the Central Bank, and is also involved in pilot projects to develop Russian payment infrastructure.
